noob vs pro in fl studio 21

We as humans have very limited time on this earth and we are not going to use that time to do unnecessary keypresses in FL Studio. There are far better things to do like go into the shower for 30 minutes and think about all the things that have driven you there.

  1. hipassing

If you want to create a Hipass (or any other) plugin preset and load it straight from your plugin list, here’s how to do it.

  • Create the preset you want to add to your plugin list

  • Save the preset in your plugin database ("Save preset as") under the correct category.

  • Rename the preset to your liking, something simple like "LC"

  • Load the preset by pressing F8 and typing in "preset name here" and hit enter.

  • Enjoy cold!

2. Automating 3rd party plugins

We can do this as shown in the video, but it’s slow because you need to open so many menus. Just press "CTRL + J" and move the knob you want to automate. After this, just right click that "multilink to controllers" tab and create an automation clip. It’s so much faster when you get used to it.

3. Muting clips (piano roll and playlist)

There are a couple of ways to do this. The way shown in the video uses "Double Right Click + Hold", Not many people are aware of this technique even existing, but here it is for you. When you lift your finger from the right click, it automatically switches back to the tool you had selected before. You can also just use "T" on your keyboard to select the muting tool.

4. opening patcher patches strait from the plugin seletor

This is a insane workflow booster, but how do you do it? It’s similar to number 1 (hipassing) but not exactly. So this is why i created video instructions for you guys, because it is much simpler to understand that way. Check out the video below.

5. moving between channels in channel rack

This is a simple one. Enable ghost notes and just double right click the ghost note, to move on to that channel.

6. changing note lenght

When you want to reposition the start and end points of a MIDI note, there is no need to adjust both notes separately. Just hold "SHIFT" while adjusting these notes. This technique will not work if there is any dead space between the two MIDI clips.
